Bicol Rapid Assessment

Bicol Rapid Assessment

Great Morning! It’s 2am and I’ve slept for almost 2.5hrs only. I arrived at the airport @ 430am. Ready to go to Bicol region for rapid assessments of municipalities affected by landslides and flooding.

Upon arriving at Naga Airport, Allan our “road manager” (coined by our team leader) brought us to a famous bulalo eatery. Beef is tender and the soup is rich! for only 380php we asked the waitress to take out what’s left over.

After our breakfast, Allan got a call from our colleague’s sister. She told us that her brother passed away. We were all shocked while on our way to the command post. May your soul rest in peace brother Alfred.

Upon arriving to incident command post for a courtesy call, we gathered data for all communities affected. We found out that  President Rodrigo Duterte will have a presscon with Bicol officials @ convention center of Camarines Sur.

After our courtesy call at the command post, we had a quick lunch. After the lunch, our team proceeded to Brgy. Patitinan, Sagñay for rapid assessments at the ground zero.

We visited Sitio Igot and Garang where 56 landslides occured due to the tropical depression usman. I took shots using our drone and camera for documentation.

After gathering data we went back to our villa @ CWC Complex to  create our reports. Tight security were implemented upon entering the premises because of the presscon.

After editing the clips and submitting our report, we went to the convention center to watch and listen the president and the officials of Bicol.

To end the day we had our dinner at CWC Clubhouse. We discussed our plans for tomorrow.

Next stop Albay…

That in All Things, God may be Glorified!
